Taurean Henderson...you are my hero! what a nail bitter! i think that game took 10 years off my life span. wow.

i forgot to post about the opera...it was WONDERFUL. i loved it and will be going again...most likely in march to see la boheme. yeah!

i saw harry potter and the goblet of fire on saturday. it was well done. i think i still enjoy the book more, but it was not a waste of almost three hours of my life. i did enjoy it.

i can't wait until wednesday...i get to trek to the south plains and hang out with the fam. i have been promised mucho movies so i'm very excited. yippee for thanksgiving.

funny occurance of last week.
i've been teaching good ol' prevention ed at the jjaep again...in only the three middle school classes so it isn't as bad as previous experiences have been. after the lesson, i give them riddles to answer for candy, of course. one of them is "it is full of holes yet still holds water. what is it?" the answer is of course a sponge. however, one child guessed a club...as in night club. when i said no, he said, "but miss, a club is full of hoes (as is woman of questionable repute) and has water in it!" i couldn't help but laugh...and laugh i did. it was rather amusing. kids...

my brother-in-law works with a guy who happens to have been eating with some of the tech football players the other day. apparently, the team didn't play so well because they all had food poisoning. if you saw or listened to the game, you may remember announcers trying to explain why dwayne slay suddenly disappeared from the game. it seems mr. slay was very ill and spent most of the half in the restroom. now, i know you're probably thinking what a great excuse this is for playing like preteens who are just learning the game of football, but considering that the same situation happened last time we played osu in stillwater...one has to wonder. leach isn't really talking about this because of a similar situation with ut playing at osu. on 2 different occasions the longhorn football team has had food poisoning issues. when coach brown talked about it the first time, everyone accused him of making excuses for his team. if you will remember, osu played texas at home this year. the team had an inexplicably rough first half but rallied in the second half to win the game. perhaps they too were suffering from illness... if you take this into account with past problems we've had in oklahoma with discrepancies in the game clock, time being sheared off without reason, etc, it would seem that osu/osu fans like to win illegitimately. so i propose a name change...the osu cowboys are now the osu yellow-bellied cheaters. this isn't an excuse for the way we played...but honestly...that bunch of red raiders isn't the bunch that has been playing the rest of our season. so i leave this information in your capable hands, reader. judge for yourself. being a tech supporter and a huge fan of big 12 football, i have to question the events surrounding trips to osu especially since it is happening to more than one osu opponent. and so in the well expressed words of hamlet...something is rotten in the state of denmark...or in this case oklahoma.

"Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - 'mank' and 'ind'. What do these words mean ? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind." --Jack Handey

I'm a little upset that I don't get to see the Tech game this weekend since it isn't televised. I know OSU has yet to win a conference game, but does that mean that there are fans who DON'T want to see the game?! I think not. It's our last away game of the season, and I for one would like to see the action. But alas. I'll have to go sit in my car and listen to it on the radio...I can't get good radio reception in my apartment. Oh well.

Anyway...I have a serious lack of interesting material for this here blog it seems. Nothing worth ranting about has happened since I switched jobs. And I've been very bored lately...and I doubt everyone wants to read miles of rants about Harry Potter. So I'll spare my very small audience.

I will be experiencing my first real opera on Sunday. I'm very excited about this. I'm taking my mom to the opera for her birthday. She hasn't been to one since college so it should be very fun.

So yeah. That's about all the interesting occurances in my life. Other than that...it's been a whole lot of boring nothing. But whatever. Exciting or not...it's still my life, and thankfully nothing is falling apart...yet.

And who knew I could write so much about absolutely nothing?

1. so far the new job is...well...it's there. i'm still adjusting, but i think i'll make it...at least i probably won't die from a work related cause today.

2. i had some fun with the emily and the chad last weekend...and i get to have amy bettis baby shower fun times this weekend! i'm very excited about my pseudo-neice, kate. i even have pictures of her on my frige. my only problem is limiting myself in the shower gift department. i'm already so attached to this little girl that i want to buy her everything...only being in social services doesn't really allow for that...so...i must pace myself...especially since she's not even here yet!

3. we are steadily approaching my favorite time of the year...and i'm VERY excited about that.

so all in all...not a bad week on my end...although it was slightly tragic with the change and all, but hey...at least i've had some good cake!
